Billie Joe Armstrong is collating a collection of quarantine covers into a 14 song collection, No Fun Mondays, set to release November 27.
The Green Day frontman has spent hours during the coronavirus pandemic releasing various covers of popular songs on YouTube. He says the full covers album will include songs from artists like John Lennon, The Avengers and the theme to Tom Hanks’ 1995 movie That Thing You Do! The song’s writer, Adam Schlesinger, died from COVID-19 complications back in April.

Armstrong has also spent time in quarantine reflecting on his career and family. In a wide-ranging interview with Kerrang! back in August, he described striking a balance between fatherhood and rock stardom. “My life was just going so crazy, so why not make it even crazier by adding marriage and kids into it. It was a lot of reckless behavior, and then reality kind of kicked in,” Billie said.
“It was definitely like living two different lives, in a lot of ways. I would go from being completely grounded to then trying to be an artist at the same time, and I’d get caught up in my own head a lot, and maybe sometimes not quite be always available.”
