On Wednesday, Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. of The Killers joined RADIO.COM on Instagram Live, answering your questions about the group’s upcoming album, Imploding The Mirage, and anything else you could come up with during our special FANDEMIC session.
RADIO.COM’s Kevan Kenney served up your questions to the pair, who are anxious to get back on the road, and for you to hear their upcoming LP. They got into the possibilities of recording a covers album, the experience of recording their debut, and even Flowers’ fear of flying.
“I wasn’t really that ambitious of a person before I stumbled upon music,” Flowers answered a fan who asked, what they would be doing if not for the band. “It really gave me something to shoot for and I found this fire that wasn’t there for anything else. So I was just happy doing whatever.”
The two also go back to the Hot Fuss days, talking about hearing the mix of “Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine” for the first time, as the first song they ever completed recording.
“I remember tearing up in studio,” Flowers recalled. “It’s not really an emotional song, but I was emotional because it sounded like the real deal. And I couldn’t believe it was us.”
