Former blink-182 frontman and co-founder of To the Stars... Academy of Arts & Sciences, Tom DeLonge, just revealed that he's got his first full length film in the works, and by the title, it looks like he's sticking to what he knows best.

"PRODUCTION HAS STARTED..." he said in all caps announcing the news on Instagram. Continuing, DeLonge says he's been a bit busy with the production and hopes you're ready for what he's got in store.

"Hope you like blink-era d*** jokes, skateboarding culture, UFOs and a few sekrets thrown in," he says. "I actually laughed so hard yesterday, I had tears. I really think you’re all going to love this film."

The current Angels & Airwaves singer is working on a new sci-fi coming-of-age flick, titled Monsters of California which is said to be about a teenager's brushes with paranormal events.

Co-written with friend and co-conspirator Ian Miller, the early cast already includes Richard Kind, Casper Van Dien, Arianne Zucker, Gabrielle Haugh, and Sports Illustrated model Camille Kostek. Jack Samson stars as the film's main character, Dallas Edwards, who gathers his crew of friends to “search for meaning behind a barrage of mysterious paranormal events (that may have ties to deep government secrets) plaguing the Los Angeles area.”

“I have been playing this story in my dreams for decades,” DeLonge told Deadline. “It represents all aspects of my strange existence, including growing up in San Diego suburbia as a disaffected teenage skateboarder. I had a tight tribe of friends who never missed an opportunity to piss people off and made me laugh so hard I would cry. The camaraderie, curiosity, angst and irreverence is everything that led me to blink-182 and this story is layered with my obsession with the tightly blurred lines between science and science fiction.”

DeLonge is also on deck to pen and record original music for the movie's score.

And now, we leave you with some wise words from Mr DeLonge...
