Chrissy Metz has a new man in her life and he’s pretty bold.
The This Is Us star revealed she met her latest boyfriend on Instagram, according to People.
“As the kids say, ‘He slid into the DMs,’” the 38-year-old said on The Wendy Williams Show.
And while it took him a few direct messages to get Metz’s attention, his persistence paid off.
“He had messaged a couple of times, very sweet but not obnoxious or weird,” she continued. “And then I was like, ‘Let me see if he’s cute. Oh, he’s cute! Okay, I guess I can respond.’”
While the actress didn’t divulge her beau’s name, she did say he’s not “in the business” and that they’ve been together for about three months. “It’s very new and very exciting,” she told Williams.
Prior to her new social media love connection, the Florida native was linked to 25-year-old composer Hal Rosenfeld. While the pair made their red carpet debut at the 2019 Golden Globes, the romance soon fizzled.
Metz was previously married to British journalist Martyn Eaden for several years before divorcing in 2015.
Besides her burgeoning romance, Metz has a lot to celebrate as This Is Us received 8 Emmy nominations including acting nods for Sterling K. Brown, Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore and Metz’s TV husband Chris Sullivan (Toby).
When asked if she might bring her new real life boyfriend to the Emmys on September 22nd, Metz kept it coy saying: “We’ll see.”
Get the tissues ready, because the fourth season of This Is Us is set to premiere on Tuesday, September 24th.
