It’s go time for Brett Young. He’s received a lot of parenting advice over the past nine months and now it’s time to put it all into practice.
The “Here Tonight” singer and his wife, Taylor, welcomed their first child into the world this week. Presley Elizabeth Young was born on October 21, 2019 at a hospital in Nashville. According to People, she weighed in at 8 lbs., 2 oz. and measured 20.75 inches long. Young gushed about his new fatherhood status on Instagram, while giving all of the credit to Taylor.
“You are a superhero. Your beauty and strength never cease to amaze me,” Young wrote. “You brought our beautiful girl into this world with a level of grace and quiet confidence that I never knew existed. I’m so impressed by and proud of you. Thank you for this incredible gift. I could not love you more!”
Young then turned his attention to his new bundle of joy, saying his world is forever changed.
“You are my angel, and I will never take for granted the beautiful gift God has given me in trusting me with you. I will always be your rock and your safe place. I am so proud to be your daddy and I am quite certainly the luckiest boy in the world. (Side note, no boys til you’re 30).”
Young sat down with RADIO.COM station US*99 over the summer to talk about what he was already learning about being a dad. He said the hardest part was not knowing exactly what to expect.
“You just have to roll with it,” Young said of the best parenting advice he’s received. “It’s your child, it’s your life, and part of the genius in it is it just makes sense the second you meet your child. You start doing it on your own, you start reacting naturally to the situation, and you figure out your way.”
