Carrie Underwood celebrated the first birthday of her son Jacob this week, letting the 1-year-old go to town on a custom cake, enjoying every minute of it covered in green frosting.

“Happy birthday, Jacob! How are you already 1 year old?” she wrote on Instagram, beside a set of shots of Jacob enjoying his birthday dessert. “You are smiley, crazy, smart, soooo fast and into everything! And, apparently, you love cake!”

Before Jacob completely destroyed the cake, it was a round green beauty, featuring a fondant version of the 1-year-old covered in a green blanket. For the celebration, Underwood also had a collection of cupcakes that were picture perfect, but it’s the cake that covered Jacob on his big day.

“I can’t wait to see your personality continue to shine! I have a good feeling you’re going to keep us all on our toes for years to come!” the "Cry Pretty" singer continued. “I thank God for you each and every day. You are truly our miracle baby!!! Mommy loves you!”

Jacob is the second son of Underwood and husband Mike Fisher. The pair also have a 4-year-old son named Isaiah. Carrie announced she was pregnant in 2018, and last year revealed that Jacob arrived after overcoming three miscarriages in two years.

“Of course you wonder if it’s you, what am I doing wrong, or what have I done wrong. I remember having conversations with Mike trying to make sense of it all” Underwood told People, explaining that it was her faith that helped guide her past this hard time for her and her family. “The miscarriages made me get real with God and say, ‘Okay, I’m kind of giving up a little bit. If this isn’t meant to happen, then I need to accept that and know that someday I’ll understand why.’”

“The best moments in my life are when I say, ‘Hey, I can’t control everything, and that’s okay. God is in control.’”

Carrie’s “miracle baby” arrived on January 21, and the rest has been a piece of cake.
