As you know by now, Carrie Underwood will be joined by Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton to host the 2019 CMA Awards. The night is a tribute to the legendary women of Country music, and the evening will be guided by three of the most iconic of all time. The trio of legends are each set to perform solo, and they will also join the massive opening performance medley to show the true strength of women in Country music.
With all this amazing female energy and decades worth of hits, we think this collaboration should probably reach beyond the CMAs. What if Carrie, Reba, and Dolly formed a supergroup and made all of our sequin dreams come true? We know it’s a brilliant idea, we just don’t know what you would call it. Luckily, we’re surrounded this week by some of the brightest minds in all of Country music, backstage at the 2019 CMA Awards. So we asked, what would you call this supergroup?
“All those names carry too much weight by themselves,” Brett Young says in the exclusive RADIO.COM video above, right before the light bulb goes off. “Oh. Carrie too much weight. That’s their supergroup. Carrie Too Much Weight.”
“I feel like Kenny Rogers comes into the mix with this,” smiles Dustin Lynch, invoking the icon. Rogers has collaborated with each of these women over the years. “Kenny’s Angels?” he offers as his idea for a name.
“Fancy ladies,” suggests our friends in Lady Antebellum, as Old Dominion work to put their names together perfectly. “DollRebawood,” laughs Matthew Ramsey from the band. “Under Dolly Reba,” Brad Tursi adds.

“Divas Delight, that’s what I would call them,” Mark Wystrach of Midland recommends, as Cam Duddy grimaces beside him. “Both you guys fail” Duddy declares.
“What do you got?” Mark shoots back at his bandmate. “The Highwomen. Come on.”
“That’s already been done,” Wystrach reminds him. “Oh s***,” Duddy exclaims.

There were plenty of amazing supergroup names across the board, from Thomas Rhett’s idea for “The Amazing Three” to Tyler Farr’s original and excellent, “The Love Muffins.” However, Dan + Shay might have the best plan, at least for themselves.
“Carrie, Dolly, and Reba would be the greatest supergroup of all time,” Shay says with passion. “The superest supergroup in the history of supergroups” Dan adds. “They should call themselves Dan + Shay,” he laughs. “And we’ll take all the royalties.”
No matter what you call it, we can’t wait to see Carrie, Dolly, and Reba on stage at the 2019 CMA Awards, happening on Wednesday November 13 at 8PM ET / 7PM CT on ABC. Be sure to check out our coverage hosted by Luke Combs, including the CMA Red Carpet Countdown one hour before the show starts, right here and on the RADIO.COM app.
