After being wed for eight months, the country star duo, Carly Pearce and Michael Ray are unfortunately calling it quits.
Pearce was honest that the decision to get divorced was not only difficult but it was not a “quarantine realization, it was a last resort,” according to a source.
The couple was last publicly together during a crowd-free performance at the Grand Ole Opry. The “Her World or Mine” singer had explained in an interview with PEOPLE magazine, that he and Pearce were dividing their quarantine time between their home in Nashville and Carly’s parent’s home in Alabama.
In regards to daily life in quarantine, Michael lamented, “I don't think I've ever walked more in my life. I felt like we were retired. We just didn't have anything else to do but walk.”
Aside from the monotony of pandemic life, both Pearce and Ray were feeling the tension of not being able to tour. Additionally, fans of the Country stars noticed that the couple, who’ve been notorious for sharing their tender moments via Instagram, had slowed their social media roll.
The singing/songwriting duo married in the Fall of 2019, but just eight months later have felt that their relationship has shifted.
Pearce shared that she hopes she and Ray can have a solid relationship regardless of their marriage, she wishes to have a “legacy both separately and together.”
