Country singer and songwriter Niko Moon joined us from his studio in Nashville while under quarantine to let us in on his time at home, telling us he’s doing his best to stay positive and make new music.
Aside from his musical talents, Niko says he’s been working on his cooking skills as well. “I’ve been trying to learn how to cook,” he tells RADIO.COM's Katie Neal. “I can’t say I’m doing too good at it,” he laughs. “I’m trying. Right now I’m working on my spaghetti. I’m starting simple and working up from there.”
Although he admits it’s a lot harder than it looks, he’s happy to be learning something new while he can, and focus on the blessings he has during these stressful times. “I’m lucky enough that I’ve got my recording studio here in my house. So that’s where I’m at right now, this is where I made “Good Time,” and I’m working on new music all day - everyday.”
Known for his work writing for Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts and Michael Franti, Niko's 2019 hit "Good Time" has sprung him into playlists, living rooms, and hearts worldwide. But rest assured, the new music he’s working on now will surely be a part of his upcoming debut album.
“There’s not gonna to be any sad songs on the record,” he says with a big smile. “It’s only gonna be good time vibes. It’s gonna be about 14 songs, and I just wanted to make an album that was the kind of record that you could put on in your backyard, or when you’re hanging out with friends, or when you’re out by some water – and you don’t have to ever skip a song because it kind of kills the vibe... It’s just good time vibes all the way through.”
