Watch Taylor Swift Perform 'Betty' for the First Time From the Grand Ole Opry

It marked the first time Swift has performed a 'Folklore' song live

“Yeah, I showed up at your party.”

While the song may be from the perspective of someone losing the love of their life and unsure of how to gain them back, the lyrics rang true as Taylor Swift made her glorious return to the ACM Awards with a stunning performance of “betty.”

Although she wasn’t nominated for any ACM Awards, Swift’s performance was one of the most anticipated of the night and served as one of the top moments of the award show.

Her return to the ACM Awards for the first time in seven years wasn’t the only notable Swift moment. When she struck the first chords of “betty,” it marked the first time the singer has performed a track from her new album Folklore in the live setting.

Taylor shocked the world when she surprisingly announced the release of Folklore back in July. Like many people in 2020, Swift said "most of the things I had planned this summer didn’t end up happening.”

With newfound time on her hands, she opted to record new music and treated the world to her eight studio album.

As concerts continue to get postponed until 2021, Swifites excitement was dampened just a bit (but let’s be honest, probably not a whole lot) over the fact it would be an indefinite amount of time until we could hear Taylor perform Folklore songs live in concert.

With her performance at the 2020 ACM Awards, we finally get to know what the album sounds like in a live setting. If last night’s showing is any indication, the songs are going to sound fantastic whenever Swift takes the stage next.
