Ed Sheeran is mourning the death of his beloved cat, Graham.
The 28-year-old revealed the devastating news by sharing a pic of the kitten alongside one of his guitars, which he simply captioned with a broken heart emoji.
The girlfriend of Sheeran’s manager elaborated with more details of what happened in another post.
“Our lovely little bud Baby Ba Boo aka Graham the Kitten passed away last night after being hit by a car," Liberty Shaw wrote alongside a black-and-white photo of Graham's furry paws under a blanket. "We are absolutely heartbroken.”
Shaw and Sheeran’s manager Stuart Camp would look after Graham whenever Sheeran was away.
Sheeran rescued Graham in 2014 and shortly after started a Twitter account for him. While he hasn’t tweeted in years, Graham did amass over 59K followers.
The “Shape of You” singer and his wife Cherry Seabornare still cat parents to Dorito and Calippo. The two kitties have their own joint Instagram account with over 375K followers. Now that’s something to meow about!
It’s been a rough couple of weeks for pet owners as Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner recently revealed their dog Waldo was also hit by a car and killed.
On the positive side, Sheeran also received some good news as his Divide Tour is now the all-time highest grossing tour ever.
Since launching in March 2017, the tour has earned $736.7 million which just beats U2’s previous record of $735.4 million.
In May, Divide became the most attended tour with a total of 7,315,970 people and counting taking in the show.
