Tori Spelling loves to get into character - even in her downtime.
Although she rose to fame playing Donna Martin for ten seasons on the groundbreaking ‘90s series “Beverly Hills, 90210,” Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott didn’t meet her until years later.
But it turns out, the actress often recreates the character for him by role-playing as her West Beverly High persona.
The 52-year-old father of six made the revelation on his “Daddy Issues” podcast this week, according to “Entertainment Tonight.”
"Yeah, she's dressed up like Donna Martin," McDermott told his co-hosts Adam Hunter and Nicky Paris. "And it's … awesome."
Now that Spelling is reprising the role in some capacity on the new “BH90210” reboot, the “Slasher: Solstice” star couldn’t be happier.
“The thing I love about the show is the flashbacks,” he added. "In episode two, the flashback of Tori running down the hall and she talks to Kelly -- I was like, 'Schwing!'"
But McDermott had nothing but praise for the 46-year-old TV icon and even admitted to being smitten by her when he was a viewer of the Fox series back in the day.
He continued, “…she looked hot. You know the story, I had a crush on Tori on the show.”
Spelling and McDermott have been married since 2006 and share five children. He also has another child from a previous relationship.
The happily married couple have documented their lives over their years in various reality shows, most recently on the A&E series “True Tori.”
While Spelling is currently enjoying returning to the spotlight with her original “90210” cast, it’s still unclear if “BH90210” – and Donna Martin - will return for a second season.
