Since being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, Alex Trebek still continues to remain positive.

This time, sending a message to Congressman John Lewis (D-GA) as they both fight pancreatic cancer, the Associated Press reported.

“We’re starting a new year, and let’s see if we can’t both complete the year as pancreatic cancer survivors,” Trebek said.

Lewis, the Georgia Democrat announced his diagnosis via Twitter in December. In his statement, he said he has no plans to step aside and said, "I have a fighting chance."

He continued, “I have been in some kind of fight ― for freedom, equality, basic human rights ― for nearly my entire life." “I have never faced a fight quite like the one I have now.”

Back in March, the host announced the tragic news that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. While telling fans the news, he added that he will continue to work and “fight this.”

Although, there has been no word yet on Trebek’s departure from “Jeopardy!” he has already thought about what he will do for his final episode. The host revealed he has a script in his head of what he will tell audience members and fans of the show.

In an interview with ABC, Trebek said he will request the director to leave him 30 seconds at the end of the show.

“I will say my goodbyes and I will tell people, ‘Don’t ask me who’s going to replace me because I have no say whatsoever. But I’m sure that if you give them the same love and attention and respect that you have shown me... then they will be a success and the show will continue being a success,''' he said. "And until we meet again, God bless you and goodbye.”

A prime-time special, “Jeopardy! The Greatest of All Time,” a tournament of former champs will be airing on January 7. The tournament will feature three of the show’s best contestants: James Holzhauer, Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter.
