Andy Cohen was forced to give his beloved dog a new home after signs of aggression surfaced around his toddler.
While Cohen has been the master of showing off his pup, Wacha, on Instagram and even in interviews, fans of the talk show star noticed a deafening silence around the pup in recent weeks.
Finally, the "Watch What Happens Live" host revealed on Friday that he had to rehome the dog due to aggressive tendencies. In a longwinded Instagram post, Cohen explained the heartbreaking decision he had to make.
"I've put off sharing this news as long as I could. As you may know, Wacha is my first baby, my beautiful rescue puppy. He is my pride and joy. When he came into my life, my world changed," he wrote.
"Over the nearly seven years that I've been blessed to have Wacha in my life, we have worked to address some occasional random signs of aggression. No effort was spared in the attempt to help Wacha feel adjusted," he continued.
However, despite his efforts, Wacha simply wasn't a good fit for his home after the birth of Cohen's son, Benjamin, in February 2019. "After an incident a few months ago, numerous professionals led me to the conclusion that my home is simply not a good place for him. Keeping him here could be catastrophic for Ben and worse for Wacha," he wrote.
Cohen goes on to explain how much having Wacha meant to him. "I am not the same person I was when I got him. My dog changed me," he explained.
