The “Broom Challenge” is all anyone has been talking about or seeing in their Facebook feeds since the phenomenon went viral on Monday, February 10.
And it’s not just your co-workers and friends getting in on the fun – celebrities are too!
The “Broom Challenge” started when a claim falsely attributed to NASA convinced the internet that Monday's gravitational pull allowed a broom to stand upright on its own.
While NASA quickly debunked the tweet as a hoax, the truth didn’t stop anyone from attempting the impressive trick with their household sweeper.
Paula Abdul tweeted a video of herself dancing around the standing broom before knocking it down.
DJ Khaled seemed impressed with his successful broom shenanigans.
Ally Brooke couldn’t believe it worked and wrote, “I rebuke this.”
The guys of CNCO nearly lost it when the trick worked for them.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go so well for Chrissy Teigen.
When fans urged her to attempt the challenge she admitted that she had a “Thai broom” that doesn’t balance.
She then found herself in some hot water when she wrote, "Don't send me your dumb brooms i don't care. we've confirmed it works, and sometimes it doesn't, and I don't care.”
Eventually, she apologized to her fandom after realizing they weren’t pleased with her less-than-enthused take on the “Broom Challenge.”
"I got caught up in the heat of the moment and didn't stop to think that the broom thing makes you happy, and that makes me happy. U may send me your brooms and again I apologize,” she said.
