Jennifer Lopez doesn't want to rush when it comes to her wedding.
Lopez spoke to Oprah Winfey at the media mogul’s 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus Tour, reported People. The singer and actress opened up about her engagement to Alex Rodriguez and their future wedding plans.
Lopez said that her and her fiancé feel there is no need to "rush" to the altar.
“It’s so funny because when we first got engaged, I was like, ‘Oh, we’re going to get married in a couple of months,’ ” she told Winfrey. “Like your old thinking comes right back, like all that hopeless romantic that made me get married three times.”
The "Hustlers" star elaborated, saying she feels no need to hurry the wedding since she feels Rodriguez is her life-long partner.
“I said, ‘If we’re going to be together for the rest of our lives, what is the rush?’ If that’s what we’re really going to do, if we’re really going to be partners, if we’re really going to try to build something together that we both never had or never felt like we had, which is a family with a husband and a wife, and a mother and father, and we embrace all our children. We show them it’s something that we didn’t have,” she said.
Lopez also commented on the "consistency" she's felt from Rodriguez that she hasn't sensed as strongly in past relationships.
“It was different than anything I had ever experienced in the sense of his consistency,” she shared. “Like what he says he does every time. And he also wants to build together, which I’ve never had. I’ve never had, you know, somebody who wants to see me shine and grow and be.”
The actress added, “He always says I do that for him and so we have that kind of like mirror quality for each other.”
Back in September, Lopez revealed new information about her planned wedding. Although there’s no word on when it will actually take place, the 50-year-old has revealed the lucky person who will walk her down the aisle.
Lopez disclosed her 11-year-old son, Max, will do the honors. Lopez shares Max and his twin sister Emme with her ex-husband Marc Anthony, who is also a singer.
A-Rod also dropped some information about their nuptials, specifically about where the highly-anticipated wedding will take place. "I got one clue for y'all. One wedding clue," the former Yankee teased during an appearance on "Strahan, Sara and Keke." "It's gonna be a long flight."
