Jessica Alba opened up about how being a mother has changed her body – and she’s totally okay with it.
In an essay for InStyle magazine, Alba talked openly about what it’s been like to put motherhood first in her busy life. When she first appeared on InStyle in 2007, she reveals she didn’t know who she was.
“I felt like I needed to be someone I wasn’t in order to be accepted. I allowed other people’s ideas of who they thought I should be to define me,” she says.
But then the kiddos came into her world, and everything changed. “I have three children,” she says. “They’ve exploded my body, and I’m cool with it.”
Her “exploded” body didn’t come without its struggles, though. Alba recalls shooting her most recent InStyle cover, having just given birth to her son, Hayes. “If I had been younger, I probably would have been obsessed with dieting and exercising, but instead I thought, ‘This is where I’m at. This is my life. And this is my body.’”
But even though she seems to think her figure is not what it used to be, she admits her kids helped her become a different woman altogether in an emotional Instagram post from back in May.
“I became a soft, vulnerable, open woman – fully comfortable in myself knowing that I’m far from perfect but I always try to do my best,” she captioned the photo.
