Joe Giudice Calls Coronavirus Lockdown in Italy 'Ridiculous'

Joe Giudice is speaking out about how he feels regarding the coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

Italy is one of the countries listed for tourists to avoid traveling to. Following the coronavirus outbreak, the country was also placed on lockdown on Tuesday.

The former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star is not happy about this situation and called this lockdown “ridiculous.”

In a video shared to Instagram, Giudice showed the empty streets in his town of Italy. He captioned the video, “I can’t believe that there’s literally nobody on the streets,” the reality star said as he panned down the streets. “Look at this. Ghost town.”

He followed up with a video of himself in a mask saying "don't be afraid."

In his caption he explained that he is following protocol: "I am not moving around the country. I am obeying the law going to work, shopping for family, and NO cafes, gym, and places like that."

Italy now has 10,149 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus, according to Johns Hopkins University and Italy’s civil protection agency, per CNBC.

Earlier today, the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 virus a global pandemic as more than 118,000 people have been sickened with the virus worldwide and nearly 4,300 have died.

The virus has spread to 114 countries, including the United States which has reported more than 1,000 cases and at least 31 deaths.

The CDC is urging the public to wash their hands with soap and water or hand sanitizer, refrain from touching their face, and to stay away from anyone that appears to be sick.
