John Legend’s daughter, Luna, is only three and a half but she may have Christmas all figured out.
The 40-year-old revealed that while he and wife Chrissy Teigen are getting everything ready for the holidays, he’s not so sure Luna still believes in Santa Claus.
“Luna, she talks about Santa and I don’t know if she really believes in Santa or if she just does it to play along with us,” “The Voice” coach told People.
“I don’t know what’s going on yet. I was never raised on Santa as a kid, so I never knew about the way parents keep up the mythology for a while.”
For now he and Chrissy are going to err on the side of caution and keep up the Santa ruse.
“So I don’t know how to play this out with Luna, how long we’re going to keep the charade going,” he added. “I feel like she’ll figure it out pretty soon.”
A recent study found that the average age a child stops believing in Father Christmas is around eight.
Santa or no Santa, the couple are making sure to take into account what Luna and her younger brother Miles want for Christmas, but without going too over-the-top.
“But we know that they’re so fortunate to just have the life they live and we don’t want to overly spoil them for Christmas,” The 2019 Sexiest Man Alive said. “But it’s nice to give them something they really like.”
As far was what Christmas is like at the Legend-Teigens, the “Ordinary People” singer says it’s all about sharing food and songs with loved ones.
“For us, the holidays are always about food, and family, and music and I feel like all three have been the most important and most memorable parts of our holiday celebrations,” the EGOT winner disclosed. “And we’ll continue with that with my kids and with Chrissy and we often have our family come spend the holidays with us, our extended family.”
No doubt part of their festivities will include playing holiday music off of the recently released deluxe edition of John’s “A Legendary Christmas” album.
