Kate Middleton made a regal entrance as she dripped in diamonds at a Buckingham Palace reception.
The Duchess of Cambridge looked dazzling decked out in a sparkling diamond necklace and the iconic Lover’s Knot tiara, which was a favorite of her late mother-in-law Princess Diana.
The tiara was created in 1914 for Queen Elizabeth’s grandmother, Queen Mary, and was often worn by Prince Williams’ mother. Kate has taken an extra special liking to the pearl heirloom as she’s adorned the crown in public four times.
For this latest outing, the 37-year-old matched it flawlessly with a sleek long-sleeve navy velvet Alexander McQueen gown, chandelier earrings and a new, massive diamond ring.
She finished off the majestic ensemble with a blue sash in recognition of her rank as Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.
Not to be outdone, Queen Elizabeth II made sure to command attention in an emerald and diamond tiara and matching earrings.
The British royal family’s annual Diplomatic Reception welcomes the world’s ambassadors and other members of the Diplomatic Corps based in London to the palace.
The Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles, and the Duchess of Cornwall will soon head to their Sandringham Estate to celebrate the festive season. Kate, Prince William, and their three children are also expected to spend at least part of the holidays there as well.
But there will be three less people opening gifts under the royal Christmas tree this year.
It was previously revealed that Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and son Archie would be passing on the royal holiday plans to enjoy them with Middleton’s mother, Doria Ragland, instead.
