Kelly Ripa isn’t afraid to cut her children off to teach them a lesson.
The host revealed that she recently learned her daughter was abusing Postmates, a food delivery service, while away in college instead of using the college meal plan her parents enrolled her in.
“I didn’t know our daughter had Postmates,” Ripa said during Tuesday’s episode of “Live with Kelly and Ryan.”
“She’s at college and we signed her up for a meal plan, 'cause we’re not monsters. We signed her up for a meal program,” she clarified.
“But you know, she doesn’t like the meals at school so she was ordering Postmates. Here’s what would happen. She would order the $7 salad but it would cost $25 dollars to have it delivered three blocks in New York City,” the mom of the 18-year-old explained before telling the audience how she handled it.
“Oh, we shut down that debit card account she had,” she admitted.
Ripa and her husband, Mark Conseulos, sent their second child to New York University in August.
However, this isn’t the first time Ripa and the “Riverdale” actor have shown their kids some tough love.
Last October, Ripa told “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” that her son, Michael, who graduated from NYU and lives in Brooklyn, is experiencing “extreme poverty.”
"I think he loves the freedom. He hates paying his own rent and he's chronically poor," Ripa said.
She then continued to explain how her son never cared about the money his grandparents sent for Halloween. "Now that he's living on his own, he's called three times, 'Halloween envelope arrived?' Just so he can have electricity. He's experiencing being an adult," Ripa said.
