After assisting with getting Alice Marie Johnson out of prison, Kim Kardashian has put her to work.
Last year, Kardashian was instrumental in having the 64-year-old great-grandmother’s sentence commuted after being incarcerated for 21 years on a cocaine conspiracy case.
Since being released in June 2018, the two have formed a close relationship with the reality star now having Johnson appear in a promotional video for her new SKIMS shapewear line, according to People.
The marketing clip starts with Johnson, who is decked out in one of the brand’s black sculpting bodysuits, telling her story and calling Kardashian her “war angel” for her efforts in getting her out prison.
She adds how Kim’s new undergarment collection enhances her freedom.
“This shapewear makes me feel that I can walk into the store, I can pick up something that I normally wouldn’t think about wearing and I can put it on, and it’s going to look great on me,” Johnson says. “This shapewear makes me feel free!”
Johnson is just the first testimonial featured as Kardashian has employed 25 other women to tell their stories and reveal how SKIMS empowers them to feel better about themselves.
The campaign will highlight women of various ages, ethnicities and sizes in order to spotlight the brand’s commitment to diversity and being inclusive of “every body.”
SKIMS will be initially available in ten sizes, from XXS to 5XL, and in nine tonal shades starting on September 10th.
