“Game of Thrones” may be over, but the Starks reunion continues.
Marvel announced at Disney’s D23 expo on Saturday that Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow on the hit HBO series, will be cast in “The Eternals” alongside his former Thrones co-star, Richard Madden, who played Harington’s half-brother/cousin, Robb Stark.
In his new role, Harington will play a character named Dane Whitman, who is known in the comics as the superhero, Black Knight.
Harington was not present for the reveal at the expo, but many of the movie’s stars were, and it includes a star-studded cast.
Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani, Barry Keoghan, Brian Tyree Henry and Lia McHugh are all in the film. Gemma Chan, who starred in “Crazy Rich Asians” also plays a character named Sersi, sticking with the “Game Thrones” theme.
“The Eternals” is the first major project Harington, 32, will be working on since “Game of Thrones” concluded in May. Prior to the show’s finale, Harington had checked himself into a wellness center to deal with personal issues.
The British actor is currently nominated for the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series Emmy.
Madden, meanwhile, has taken on several projects since Robb Stark’s demise at the end of season 3 in 2013. He currently stars in the hit BBC show “Bodyguard,” in which he won a Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television series.
“The Eternals” is expected to be released in theaters on Nov. 6, 2020.
