Mark Wahlberg wasn’t feeling any good vibrations from his ten-year-old daughter.
The “Daddy’s Home” star has opened up about being rejected by his daughter Grace at a recent father-daughter dance at her school for not being cool enough.
“I didn’t get one dance,” the 48-year-old said during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” “I told her we were gonna do the whole big circle and then I was gonna go off and she said ‘Dad if you embarrass me I will never talk to you again.’”
Despite not wanting to see her dad shake his groove thing, Grace did manage to spend some quality time with her movie star father.
“But what she did do is that she hung out with me,” he added. “She sat there by the edge of the stage by the DJ.”
Unfortunately, Wahlberg soon took issue with the music being played at the dance.
“I’m sitting there with one other dad and I’m like ‘This is not an edited version of this song. There are explicit lyrics being played at a school dance for girls, no good.’ I told the DJ, I said ‘What are you doing? I’m hearing f-bombs and this and that. Not okay,’” Wahlberg recounted. “But we still had a great time together.”
He also disclosed how Grace is not a fan of his Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch videos from the ‘90s.
“She says, ‘If I ever see that again, I won’t talk to you,’” the “Good Vibrations” rapper admitted.
In addition to Grace, Wahlberg and wife Rhea Durham also share 16-year-old daughter Ella Rae, and sons Michael, 13, and Brendan Joseph, 11.
While he hung up his singing career years ago, the Oscar-nominated actor will next be seen with rapper Post Malone in the Netflix movie “Spenser Confidential,” which starts streaming on March 6th.
