What do you and lifestyle maven Martha Stewart have in common?
Cheat meals and guilty pleasures.
Stewart, who has several cookbooks of her own, is known for recipes with fresh and healthy ingredients and stocks her fridge with fresh items from her Connecticut farm, raised a few eyebrows when she revealed her unexpected guilty pleasure food.
The “Martha Stewart Living” founder told Us Weekly that her cheat meal isn’t a delicacy or dessert but rather “single slices of American cheese.”
While that may come as a surprise to many fans, Stewart has previously been open about her love for the processed item that can be found in any grocery store.
In an interview with Town & Country in 2017, Stewart revealed, "My guilty pleasure is not at all interesting: It's a spoon of really good organic peanut butter, or a slice of American cheese from my housekeeper’s drawer.”
"I steal American slices sometimes — in the plastic, it’s so horrible. But it’s such a good snack,” she added of her go-to item.
Stewart doesn’t always reach for pasteurized cheese products, however.
Aside from a few cheese slices here and there, Stewart adheres to a pretty strict daily diet that includes foods that “aren’t synthetic and overly processed.”
She told Al Roker's "COLDCUTS" that she also loves to snack on farm-fresh eggs from her own chickens.
Her meals are all about balance, and her expensive taste reflects that, as she previously revealed that her idea of a perfect New Year’s Eve meal was “caviar and vodka.”
Stewart and her former “Potluck Dinner Party” co-star, Snoop Dogg, teamed up to hilariously cook some snacks and pizza with Green Day when she guest-hosted “The Ellen Show.”
