Even though football is currently not a thing due to the coronavirus pandemic, having fun still very much is, and what's more fun than a drive-in movie theater, when it’s a national requirement to stay six-feet apart?

Don’t worry we’ll wait, but while we wait let us tell you all about how the Miami DolphinsHard Rock Stadium has been transformed into an outdoor and drive-in movie theater for the summer.

Movie passes for the Drive-Up Theater are priced at a flat fee of $39 per vehicle, the stadium floor can accommodate up to 175 cars per showing, and attendees simply navigate their vehicles onto pre-designated – and socially distanced – spots. There you can watch the movie on the stadium’s big screen from either inside or in front of their cars, as folding chairs and other temporary seats are permitted. Food options are also available and can be ordered and delivered directly to a person’s car.

At the Open Air Theater on the south side of the stadium, reserved seats are arranged across the plaza to allow for social distancing and sold in groups of two, four and six for $12, $17 and $19 per person.

The newly-developed drive-in debuted on Friday, June 19, with the timely Juneteenth screening of Ava DuVernay’s critically acclaimed 2014 civil-rights drama Selma. After a successful opening week with several sold-out shows, the team announced an additional slate of movies set to be shown, planning to welcome film-loving patrons through at least July 12th

Upcoming screenings include Super Bowl VII on Saturday night an a Pride Night screening of Moonlight on June 30. Jaws on July 2, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial on July 3, and Creed on July 5.

Proceeds from the NFL’s team Outdoor Theaters at Hard Rock Stadium, will benefit the Miami Dolphins Foundation, which is providing 5,000 meals per week to residents in-need.
