Rose McGowan is throwing shade at her former “Charmed” co-star Alyssa Milano.
McGowan is slamming Milano after the actress’ neighbor called police to the area of Milano’s residence to report a possible gunman.
“Who is the Leader of Karens? Alyssa Milano,” McGowan tweeted. She wrote this post in response to a headline that reads, “Alyssa Milano calls 911.”
In a statement she made to Fox News, the “Who’s the Boss?” star explained that her neighbor called the police after seeing “a man dressed in all black, walking in the woods between our properties with a gun,” which she said is “a rare sight in our parts.”
The actress, who has supported the “defund the police” movement, said her husband had also called 911 “to check on when police would be arriving.”
Officials searched the area where police reported that the alleged gunman was a hunter who was stalking squirrels with an air rifle.
Milano’s statement said the man called 911 himself to inform police of the situation and to apologize “for the commotion he had caused.”
She then addressed the controversy in a statement that explained a possible gunman’s investigation is an appropriate reason to call your local police department.
“These are exactly the type of situations that police officers are trained for and should be responding to, and we will always support police having the resources they need for appropriate policing actions,” she said. “We’d love to see equally trained non-police professionals respond to addiction and mental health crises and non-violent events so that these brave officers can do the jobs they are so good at handling, as they demonstrated this weekend.”
She thanked the sheriff’s department on Twitter and said that she “never called the police,” calling claims that she had “a lie.”
Milano added, “But I would have if I saw a guy with a gun in my backyard.”
