Teresa Giudice Reveals She Signed a Prenup Before Marrying Joe Giudice

From childhood sweethearts to splitting up after 20 years, Teresa Giudice just shared a shocking revelation about her and Joe's marriage.

During Wednesday's episode of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey," Teresa participated in a heated argument with her estranged husband over the phone.

In the call, she revealed that she was required by Joe to sign a prenuptial agreement before their wedding in 1999.

"You made me sign a prenup, okay!" Teresa tells Joe in the video. “A week before we were getting married, Joe asked me to sign a prenup and I just felt when you love someone, you don’t do that,” Teresa then explained.

She then said she "wasn't going to go through with it," but couldn't imagine cancelling the wedding. “Being Italian, I have old school parents, and it’s an embarrassing thing to call off a wedding,” Teresa said.

According to People, she agreed to sign the prenup under one condition, if a clause "be added voiding the prenup if there was ever infidelity."

“I didn’t even read it, I just said, ‘I want you to put one thing in there. If you ever cheat, the prenup is void,'” Teresa said.

The couple has decided to officially split after twenty years of marriage. A source close to the family told People that Joe and Teresa "have been separated" since the family's recent trip to Italy.

“They discussed their future when Teresa and the girls went to Italy in early November and they agreed that each had to move on. They are doing so amicably and very slowly,” the source says of the childhood sweethearts.

Joe confirmed the split by posting a side-by-side photo of himself and Teresa with the caption, “it’s time to let go.” The post has since been taken down.

No word yet on if the couple plans to divorce in the near future.
