If you’ve always wanted to live like an aristocrat, now’s you’re chance to hop across the pond and give it a shot! You can now spend a night in the castle from the “Downton Abbey” film.
Airbnb has revealed that at 7 am on October 1st, you and a guest can throw your hats in the ring for a one-night stay at Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey). But there’s a catch – you have to be available on Tuesday, November 26th to go through with it.
According to a press release issued to TODAY, your night in the quarters will put you back about $186 and includes an extravagant dinner in the castle’s iconic dining room. You’ll be treated like royalty – waited on by butlers and getting the chance to sip after-dinner coffee in the library.
The master bedroom features views of over 1,000 acres of land. If you thought you’d already gotten the most bang for your buck, just wait until you hear about breakfast.
Guests will be treated to a “lavish” breakfast as well as a tour of the grounds (all 10,000 square feet of them). The castle is home to 300 rooms.
The home is inhabited by the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon, who have expressed their excitement at the idea of allowing guests into their home.
“Highclere Castle has been in the Carnarvon family since 1679 and has an incredibly rich history. I am passionate about the stories and heritage of Highclere Castle, and I am looking forward to welcoming our future guests,” Lady Carnarvon reveals.
