Hillary Clinton loves Lizzo just as much as the rest of us.
The unlikely bond occurred when the “Juice” singer tweeted a video of the 2016 Democratic presidential debates showing Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and other White House hopefuls standing for the National Anthem.
But instead of The Star Spangled Banner, Lizzo’s hit “Truth Hurts” starts playing with the line, “Why men great ’til they gotta be great?.”
According to Billboard, the next day, the meme caught the attention of the former Secretary of State, who replied with the follow-up line: “I just took a DNA test, turns out...”
Clinton stopped short of including the lyric’s expletive.
Whoever is in charge of Clinton’s social media deserves a raise!
Fans were quick to show their support as Clinton’s comment has garnered over 68K likes, nearly 14K retweets and 4K comments.
One user wrote, “I stan a leader who knows what the people need and serves it quick and hot. Thank you, HRC.”
While another showed praise by echoing a very popular sentiment by adding, “I love you, Queen!”
Others expressed their adulation for Clinton’s savage response with hysterical memes featuring everyone from Queer Eye to Snoop Dogg to Jon Snow.
While Lizzo didn’t officially comment on the viral exchange, the 31-year-old did retweet Clinton’s comment, so we know the love is mutual.
Now with the VMAs on August 26th, how do we get Lizzo and Hillary on stage together? This is the duet we need!
