He “got one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight M's in my bank account,” and he’s leading by example and using it for good.

Rapper 21 Savage has launched Bank Account at Home, a free online financial literacy program to “help with at-home learning for students and families across the country.”

The project is a partnership between the 21’s Leading By Example Foundation, mobile banking service Chime, education technology platform EverFi, and nonprofit Juma Ventures. The nationwide program is designed to educate young people on managing and earning money. As they believe, “that with education comes more financial peace of mind and the power to build your own future.”

In a video announcement for his new initiative, the Atlanta rapper said, "I started my Bank Account financial literacy program in 2018 to help the youth with money management. Now that times are hard as ever during this pandemic and so many families are affected across the country, I feel it's more important than ever to give our next generation of leaders the tools to succeed in life.”

Concurrently, 21 is also staying true to his commitments to his Atlanta community, working with mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to provide free WiFi and tablets to underprivileged youth in the Zone 6 section of Atlanta. The “Bank Account” rapper has also committed to donating $25,000 to Atlanta's #ATLStrong COVID-19 relief fund.

21’s desire to teach teens about what it means to be financially literate stems from his own personal journey. The GRAMMY-winning rapper’s first expansion of his Bank Account Program took place in February of 2019, where he teamed up 150 at-risk youths with what he dubbed as a Money Making Mentor, "While my #1 song was called 'Bank Account,' growing up, I knew almost nothing about bank accounts,” he said in a press release at the time. "As I have gotten smarter about financial management, I realize how empowering it is to control your money rather than be controlled by it. I want to help kids with a background similar to mine to get smart about their money.”

The program is available at chime.com/21savage.
