Checks Over Stripes: Drake Is Dropping 'Certified Lover Boy' Merch With Nike

We'll take one of each please

Just as Drake’s Certified Lover Boy is set to make its debut in 2020, Nike-branded merch has begun popping up.

It would only makes sense for a Drake and Nike collab to come to fruition, considering the “Laugh Now, Cry Later” music video is essentially a beautiful long-format Nike commercial. The whole video was shot at Nike HQ.

From a lipstick kiss-stained Nike baseball cap to merch actually reading “Certified Lover Boy,” some pretty major players have been receiving Nike care packages brimming with Champagne Papi’s new merch.

Swae Lee took to Instagram recently to share the goodies he received from Nike and Drizzy. Lee’s haul included a bomber jacket and Nike socks that feature the signature swoosh in the middle of a red heart.

The CLB merch also features a cupid character in a ski mask that appears on many pieces of the new apparel. Additionally, some of the items from the new Nike and Drake mash-up even include lyrics from the upcoming album.

There is no set date yet for Papi’s Nike drop. Drake attempted to trademark Certified Lover Boy, however, he was denied the trademark because the name could be confused with Lover’s Lane clothing company and the rock band, Loverboy.
