Lil Yachty addresses arrest for driving 150 mph in Atlanta

'Slow down kids'

If you didn’t already know, last week Lil Yachty was arrested after authorities said they clocked him going more than 150 mph on the Downtown Connector in Atlanta.

This week, the rapper is speaking out about the matter, with a message to the youth, shared appropriately on TikTok, "slow down, kids,” he said.

According to the GSP authorities, Yachty, whose real name is Miles McCollum, was pulled over in his white Ferrari by Georgia State Patrol troopers near University Avenue on September 21 and taken to the Atlanta City Jail on charges of reckless driving and speeding and later released.

To clarify any confusion of his whereabouts, Yachty took to Instagram on Monday to make clear that he was "not in jail" with a video of him behaving modestly considering, kidding of course, he was showing off wads of cash.

Last week’s arrest, is unfortunately not the first time the Atlanta rapper has been caught up with the law regarding his reckless driving. This past June, Yachty crashed his red 2020 Ferrari 488 after spinning out of control on a freeway amid heavy rainfall. At that time, witnesses said his speed and the wet roads caused the accident.

Yachty extremely grateful for the outcome tweeted out "So thankful for my life. Never take it for granted," before sharing images of the accident with the caption "blessed."

In his post on TikTok, Yachty didn’t seem too concerned with the news coming out, even admitting it happened “last week.” However, what did seem to have him worried was the potential of his mug shot making its way to the internet, saying ”God forbid the mug shot comes out. Hopefully, it doesn’t.” Guess what, it did, against Yachty's wishes check it out below.
