After an Instagram Live meeting, a brief delay, and countless tributes, Megan Thee Stallion has come to officially proclaim “Hot Girl Summer” here.
The phrase has become a hashtag catch-all ode to living your best life, and now Megan is offering the official anthem. She’s joined by Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign on the breezy banger, both flexing in their own unique way.
“Handle me? Who gonna handle me?” raps Megan Thee Stallion. “Thinking he's a player, he's a member on the team.”
Featuring a sample from the City Girls’ “Act Up”, Megan and Minaj trade quick-fire flows and give voice to the most meme-able phrase of the season.
"it's just about women and men being unapologetically them,” Megan Thee Stallion explained earlier this year about #HotGirlSummer, which has taken on a trending life of its own. “Just having a good-ass time, hyping up your friends, doing you, not giving a damn about what nobody gotta say about it."
Please enjoy this example of a good-ass time, brought to you by Megan and Lizzo.
Megan is a lot of things that are all unapologetically her. The Houston rapper is also currently a college student, environmental activist, and beyond. Earlier this year she organized the first "Hottie Beach Clean Up" in Los Angeles, doing her part to impact the earth in an eco-friendly way.
Later this month, Megan kicks off the Legendary Nights tour with Future and Meek Mill. You can find the full list of dates here.
