Offset is bringing his clout to the small screen, starring in this weekend’s episode of NCIS: Los Angeles. The Migos rapper is set to play “an undercover CIA Officer working for years in the Sinai Peninsula to embed himself with the local tribes by smuggling contraband so that he can monitoring terrorist and weapons movements in that region,” according to a press release.
In addition to an acting turn, Offset will also debut a new song called “Danger” during the show.
The appearance comes from a relationship with series star LL Cool J, who helped get the “Ric Flair Drip” rapper on the show. “I really hollered at him, I was like, ‘yo this is what I wanna do,’” Offset shares in a behind-the-scenes clip. “One thing led to another, then you know, they did their process, went through their thing, and here we are,” explains LL.
“You’re a rap artist, they think you need to play a gangsta, or you’re gonna play a thug, you’re gonna play something closer to the street – and he’s like, completely away from all of that,” he adds. “He’s completely breaking type which I think is great.”
