The scene at the Regalia Hotel in Lake of the Ozarks looked like any normal Saturday night in past summers as crowds packed in to enjoy a night of music.
Rapper Tech N9ne performed a concert at Lake of the Ozarks where TMZ reports over 1,000 people were in attendance.
It was a homecoming show for Tech N9ne as Lake of the Ozarks is roughly 150 miles from his hometown of Kansas City.
Video from the concert looks like any other show as crowds stood shoulder-to-shoulder with few masks in sight.
Tech N9ne is the latest artist to catch heat for holding concerts in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Imagine being selfish enough to put thousands of people’s health at risk, not to mention the potential ripple effect, and play a NORMAL country concert right now. @ChaseRiceMusic, We all want (and need) to tour. We just care about our fans and their families enough to wait,” Kelsea Ballerini wrote in response to seeing footage of the concert.
Rice addressed the controversy over the concert, but didn’t offer an apology. Instead, he urged fans to “Please go by the rules.”
He was speaking about an upcoming drive-in concert and added “Please go by the laws on this Friday show coming up and the shows moving forward so we can get to regular shows soon enough.”
As the return date of live music remains murky, the UK recently held its first socially distanced indoor concert. Venue operators called the event unsuccessful and said it was "not a financial model that the industry can remotely rely upon to be sustainable.”
