It’s officially official. And it's officially dropped.
As we previously mentioned we were pretty sure that Nicki Minaj was going to be the first to collaborate with Tekashi since being released from prison due to COVID-19 concerns. And while T shared a video of him and Akon mixing up some magic earlier this week, the rapper's second official single features none other than… you guessed it, Onika.
Posting the announcement on Instagram earlier this week, Nicki confirmed that she and Tekashi would be dropping a new track called “TROLLZ.”
Before making the official announcement, both rappers' site stores unveiled promo items including clothing, cassette, vinyl and digital versions of the record. Images of the brightly colored, rainbow adorned merch promoting the new single began to circulate on social media.
Shortly after, Nicki took to IG to let her Barbz know that the single will be dropping today and that a portion of the proceeds will be going to the Bail Project Inc., a program that provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals, who are unable to pay their bail as they await trial.
"A portion of the proceeds from #Trollz including merch items, will be going directly to The Bail Project Inc.," she wrote in the Instagram post." "The fund provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford to pay bail while awaiting their trial. We want to protect and support the thousands of brave people working on the front lines of social justice, using their voices to demand AN END to the targeting and killing of Black Americans by the police.”
This isn’t Nicki Minaj and 6ix9ine’s first collab, “TROLLZ” follows up 2018’s “FEFE” which was a major Billboard hit, peaking at No. 3 after spending 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
The latest single will mark the 2nd 2020 drop from Mr. 6ix9ine, succeeding “Gooba” which released in early May.
Well ladies and gents, here you go. Check out the newly released "TROLLZ" below.
