Brian Wilson is feeling well enough to get back on the road.
The Beach Boys legend and all around musical genius postponed his tour last month to focus on his mental health. The 77-year-old said he had been feeling mentally insecure and was saying things he didn’t mean. But less than two months later, a rep says Wilson is feeling 100% better and wanted to let his fans know.
“Thank you to everyone for your cards and best wishes,” Wilson posted on his website and social media. “Your concern and love just blows me away. I’m feeling much better and I look forward to seeing you when we start up our tour on August 7!”
The August 7 date is part of Wilson’s Pet Sounds: The Final Performances series. He performs the groundbreaking Beach Boys album in its entirety with a group of accomplished backing musicians.
Other dates on the tour, which runs until September 29th in Philadelphia, focus on the Beach Boys’ greatest hits and some of Wilson’s solo material.
