Kanye West has added his touch to another classic, this time taking a 90s alt anthem and making it into a moving gospel song.

At a recent Sunday Service session hosted by the artist, West rearranged “Don’t Speak” from No Doubt into a prayerful plea. The 1996 smash written by Gwen Stefani after a breakup with bassist Tony Kanal, reached number one and went platinum twice over.

Stefani reacted to a clip of Kanye’s version on Twitter, writing “My heart is so full hearing this incredible version of Don’t Speak/ Lord Speaks.”

“I’m in shock hearing this song turned into a worship song at Kanye’s Sunday Service. I literally started crying.”

Kim Kardashian West quickly responded to Gwen’s request, replying with a heart, angel, and praying emoji.

Sunday Service is an event organized by Kanye West, featuring himself and other musicians performing songs of worship and praise. West hosted an edition of the gathering earlier this year at Coachella.

Gwen Stefani is currently closing out a run of her Just A Girl show in Las Vegas, playing the final show Friday after being forced to cancel due to illness earlier this week. The residency resumes in October.
