Zoe Kravitz is jumping from small screen to big screen with her newly unveiled role as Catwoman opposite Robert Pattinson’s Batman in “The Batman.”
Social media has been all over the announcement with filmmaker Matt Reeves teasing the reports when he tweeted a timely gif of Kravitz saying “hello” into a cell phone. Reeves is taking over the directing of “Batman” from Ben Affleck, who held the reigns until 2017.
Jason Momoa, married to Kravitz’s mother, sent his congratulations to his stepdaughter over Intagram.
“I’m so proud of you zozo bear,” Momoa wrote in the caption. He finished the post off with, “Unbelievable so freaking stoked.”
Fans have flooded the social media world, unable to unthink the fact that Batman and Catwoman have an ongoing romantic tension. Pattinson and Kravitz have people on their edge of their seats waiting for the roles to be filled on screen.
According to Variety, the news of Kravitz’s role comes on the heels of speculation that it was down to Kravitz, Zazie Beetz (“Atlanta”), Eiza Gonzalez (“Baby Driver”), and Oscar winner Alicia Vikander.
Kravitz is the daughter of musician Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet. She is best known for her portrayal of Bonnie Carlson in the HBO series “Big Little Lies.” The show wrapped after its second season in July 2019.
