No Bull - Green Day Is Definitely up to Something

The band is playing the cryptic social media post game

First there was speculation about a new song, then there wasn’t, but Green Day is still making noise on social media.

Each band member posted a picture of a bull on Instagram, and when you swipe it goes to a photo of another band member in a rehearsal-type setting.

The cryptic posts appeared just days after a Green Day rep denied to Kerrang! Radio that a new song was about to be released. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong did say he was writing new music for the band in an Instagram live video in December, but the time to hear it doesn’t appear to be now.

There aren’t many dots left to connect unless you rewind almost exactly a year, when drummer Tré Cool said Green Day had been rehearsing the songs from Dookie. The band’s smash breakthrough album turns 25 this year, and there’s been speculation about an anniversary tour.

Green Day’s last studio album was 2016’s critically-acclaimed Revolution Radio, which featured three singles including “Still Breathing.”
