Before Billie Eilish even stepped on stage, she was the star of the 2020 Oscars. Enjoying the show in the audience seated next to her brother FINNEAS, the history-making GRAMMY-winning singer was caught on camera with a confused look during presenters Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig's musical medley filled with songs decades older than the “bad guy” star.

As the pair closed out with the 1986 hit “Lady In Red,” the singer born in 2001 looked on, perplexed by the moment. It was an instant meme, and the early winner of an odd evening at the Academy Awards.

Later in the night, it was Eilish’s turn to take the stage. Along with her brother and main collaborator, Billie provided the soundtrack to the night’s In Memoriam segment, delivering an achingly beautiful version of The Beatles’ “Yesterday.”

"Honored to be performing during the in memoriam segment for the Oscars tonight,” she wrote earlier on her Instagram story. "Covering a song I've always loved. Watch with us."

Last month, Billie Eilish became the only woman ever to win the top 4 awards on music’s biggest night. The 18-year-old star won 5 GRAMMYs in total, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist. She’s also the youngest ever to sweep the top 4 awards, and the first person to do it since 1981.
