BTS Set Virtual Attendance Record With This Weekend's 'Bang Bang Con: The Live'

The performance was seen in 107 countries and territories

The BTS ARMY turned out in full force as the pop group broke a virtual attendance record with their online concert “BANG BANG CON: The Live.”

The show was presented by the band’s management company Big Hit Entertainment and according to their metrics, the concert peaked with 756,000 concurrent viewers from 107 countries and territories. The audience was equivalent to 15 shows at a 50,000 seat stadium and marked the largest audience for a paid virtual event.

“BANG BANG CON The Live” ran for 100-minutes and featured BTS performing 14 songs. The interactive set up consisted of five rooms and two stages allowed members of the group to freely navigate between areas.

“Though we may not be able to see each other at this time, we’ve been constantly striving to grow as a group,” Jimin told fans. “We are coping up with it pretty well so hope that you too can overcome this time by finding the small joy within. Hope we can meet each other again with smiles on our faces.”

Despite the challenges that the COVID-19 pandemic has put on live music, BTS was able to flawlessly deliver a great performance and give fans the next best thing to a concert.

“I am so happy to be in a sweat after performing,” J-Hope said. “I hope you could feel our love for the stage, as we prepared really hard for today.”

The group holds out hope they’ll be able to see the ARMY again in person soon. “The time we spent together filled me with joy. If I have the chance, I will come see you,” V and Jin said while RM mentioned that “BTS and ARMY’s spring will definitely return.”
