For her Romance project, Camila Cabello has promised to talk about love from all angles. Through the first few examples we’ve seen infatuation, temptation, and jealousy – and now the singer has zeroed in on real, flaws-and-all love.
“Easy” might be the most ordinary, but most amazing entry into the new era from Cabello, examining the everyday issues we all have and understanding that maybe the biggest part of love is acceptance and the ability to be your true self.
“I wrote this song about the kind of love that makes you love yourself more,” Camila explained on Instagram. “I think before you open up to someone you always feel scared that once they see all the stuff you don’t like about yourself, all the things you’re insecure about, that they won’t like you anymore - and when someone sees those things and loves you not only in spite of them, but because of them, it makes you feel truly seen for who you are , and loved for who you are too.”
Cabello unravels her own flaws and acceptance over an arena-sized anthem, building to a towering chorus with thunderous drums and sweeping passion. It’s a big and sprawling song about the littlest and simplest parts of love.
“Easy” is the fourth song Camila Cabello has released from her upcoming Romance project, starting with the double-dose of “Liar” and “Shameless” released in September. Last week Cabello followed with the release of “Cry For Me.”
