It’s Camila season and we couldn’t be happier.
One month after hitting us with a double dose of her upcoming album, Romance, Cabello is back with another song to unwrap and an amazing cover to wrap ourselves in until then.
On Wednesday, Camila Cabello stopped by the Live Lounge for BBC Radio 1, and offered up her own synthy, triumphant take on Lewis Capaldi’s “Someone You Loved.” Booming and vulnerable, Camila makes it completely her own – almost reinventing the already emotion-packed tune in a unique and powerful experience.
“Every time I get to the last line of this song, I am almost in tears,” Cabello wrote later on Instagram about the performance. “’I let my guard down, and then you pulled the rug, I was getting kinda used to being someone you loved.’ The ‘kinda’ kills me especially. Lewis Capaldi thanks for making a magically heartbreaking song and making me get in my feelings every time I sang this.”
Capaldi was quick to respond, also posting the performance with the comment, “Sales of this song are about to sky rocket. Camila Cabello, you are incredible. I need to tell my mum at once. #CamilaMadeMeAMilly.”
