In lieu of pride parades and packed dance floors this year, LGBTQ+ performers and allies are trading in their festival stage sets for raw and unfiltered live stream performances.

World of Wonder, the media company behind RuPaul’s Drag Race and the non-profit organization facilitated by New York City’s historic Stonewall Inn, come together to bring us, Stonewall Gives Back! A live streaming concert for the LGBTQ+ Nightlife community. Stonewall Gives Back aims to “Raise Money for those in the LGBTQ+ Nightlife Industry Impacted By COVID-19.”

The streaming event hosted by RuPaul’s Drag Race Judge, Michelle Visage & viral sensation, Tyler Oakley, is set to take place on Thursday, April 23rd at 8PM ET / 5PM PT on World of Wonder’s YouTube channel. Guest appearances from artists such as Kim Petras, Todrick Hall, Kristin Chenoweth, Troye Sivan, Nina West and many more will all grace the stream, as well as a special performance from pop icon, Cyndi Lauper.

This is a time when many are facing uncertainty, and due to the pandemic all LGBTQ+ nightlife spaces have shuttered their doors for the public’s health and safety. The Stonewall Gives Back! live stream performance serves as a vehicle to up lift the LGBTQ+ night life community while reminding the community that safe queer outlets still exist virtually.

World of Wonder co-founders, Randy Barbato and Fenton Bailey highlight the importance of the LGBTQ+ centric stream by saying, “the Stonewall Inn in New York City has, for decades, served as a beacon of hope in the LGBTQ+ community. World of Wonder similarly strives to build opportunities and access for the community, while standing beside them and The Stonewall Inn in the struggle for equality.”

Proceeds from Stonewall Gives Back! go directly to a fund where industry professionals can apply for grants. Grants will be given “to those who have lost their livelihood due to the coronavirus pandemic and are struggling to afford basic necessities."

You can apply for a grant at www.stonewallgivesback.com.
