Despite finding massive success at the age of 12, Grace VanderWaal remains one of the most down-to-earth and awesome artists we’ve had the pleasure of meeting. The America’s Got Talent singer is celebrating her 16th birthday on January 15, and we’re using it as an excuse to look back at one of our favorite moments with her.
Last year, the “Moonlight” star took your questions, and opened up about her life. In the exclusive RADIO.COM video above, @klwood43 asked, “I would like to know what Grace feels is her biggest accomplishment thus far in her career.”
For Grace it isn’t her album release or playing giant arenas like Madison Square Garden, for her it’s about finding a balance between life and work.
“Figuring out how to work and take care of myself at the same time,” VanderWaal explained. “I’m very proud of this accomplishment. I know it’s not something that’s been posted or something, but it was a very big accomplishment for me this year.”
The stresses of performing and dealing with multiple media requests were once overwhelming, but Grace has learned to find balance and put herself first. “I enjoy it now,” she smiled.
VanderWaal will star in Stargirl on Disney+. The film arrives on the streaming service on March 13.
Happy birthday Grace VanderWaal, to an amazing young talent who has her eye on big things for 2020.
