Katy Perry Collapses During Gas Leak on 'American Idol'

The judge hits the ground in a new preview clip

A few lucky contestants will be sent to Hollywood on this week’s edition of American Idol, as Katy Perry unfortunately is sent to the EMT. In a preview clip for Sunday’s show, a gas leak halts production of the singing competition, forcing an evacuation and the eventual collapse of Katy.

“Do you guys smell gas?” Perry asks her fellow judges in an exclusive video from People. “Propane,” Luke Bryan quickly calls out.

The crew is asked to leave the building during the auditions, but outside the “Never Really Over” singer is still feeling the effects. “I don’t know, I have a slight headache from it,” she says as she gets up from her chair.

“Wow you can smell it right?” Lionel Richie remarks outside as the fire trucks arrive. “This is not a joke, there really is a gas leak” Bryan adds.

As contestants and crew gather on the sidewalk outside, Katy Perry announces that she’s struggling before collapsing to the ground. “I’m not feeling good,” she shouts before tumbling.

We’ll find out how Perry came roaring back, when American Idol returns on Sunday night at 8PM ET on ABC.
