The 63-year-old joined exclusive company by being featured on Kanye West’s new album Jesus is King. Kenny G plays on the track “Use This Gospel” with Clipse, which debuted at #37 on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to Billboard, Madonna’s last triumph came in 2012 on “Give Me All Your Luvin’” featuring Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Michael Jackson’s most recent top 40 was on Drake’s “Don’t Matter to Me” in 2018, and U2’s appearance on Kendrick Lamar’s 2017 hit “XXX” did the trick for the Irish rockers. Moral of the story: embrace young artists.
Yankovic has one top 40 hit in each of the past four decades, most recently with the “Blurred Lines” spoof “Word Crimes” in 2014.
