Lil Nas X Cancels Appearances, 'Ready to Take a Little Time Off'

'It's been a wild last 7 months'

Lil Nas X has been on Old Town Road so long that he’s looking for a rest stop.

The singer says he’s taking a break from music during what has been a whirlwind year for the overnight, genre-bending star.

“It’s been a wild last 7 months and I’m ready to take a little time off,” he wrote on Twitter. “Sorry to everyone attending TwitchCon or the Sandbox Music Festival, I will not be there. I love U guys and will make it up to you in some way.”

Lil Nas X has the longest-running #1 Billboard Hot 100 song in history, with “Old Town Road” topping the chart for 19 weeks. Since the original track was first released in December, Billy Ray Cyrus joined him for a new version, and remixes featuring DiploMason Ramsey and Young Thug, and RM of BTS have been released.

Lil Nas X’s “Panini” and his 7 EP have also been certified platinum, and with all the touring and appearances that have come along with his success, the 20-year-old apparently needs to re-charge.
